KG quarrying services once fully financed will be carried out for a logistics company (LC) incorporated in Senegal in 1999. They have the rights to two basalt quarry concession in the Kedougou region of Senegal and an option to a third concession.
KG will partner with LC to quarry and crush the basalt. LC would then transport and sell to partners with whom they have existing relationships, in particular in the Gambia, but also in Senegal.
At present March 2023 there is an operating small crushing plant on site at the quarry and there is a need to increase production at least five-fold to start meeting the demand for the aggregate. KG can supply the expertise to operate the bigger quarrying and crushing operation. Kedougou Gold currently has the majority of requisite equipment in Kedougou and can set up on site and commence operating in a very short period of time and an Information memorandum is available on request
To be noted, the USD415 million Sambangalou hydroelectric dam project on the Gambia river has received the final investment decision and construction has started. There will be a substantial requirement for aggregate and KGs quarries would be ideally placed to, in part, meet this being located only 50km from the new dam site.
KG Have partnered with two large concessions in the Mako region that are licensed for gold but have secondary Basalte and Granite deposits that can be added onto licences
The logistics company also has an operating clay mine in South Western Senegal with offtake agreements for the clay with a ceramic’s producer based near Dakar. They are also looking to ramp up production at this site as well as for investment to expand their fleet of trucks. These options have been fully costed and subject to due diligence and further details can be supplied on request.
